PU (Polyurethane)/ Faux Leather Care

Regular Cleaning: Wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. Avoid using abrasive or harsh cleaning agents that may damage the material.

Spill Cleanup: Immediately blotch spills with a clean cloth or paper towel to prevent liquid from seeping into the material. For stubborn stains, use a mild soap solution (such as diluted dish soap), gently wipe the affected area, and dry thoroughly.

Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause PU leather to fade or crack. Place items away from direct sunlight or use curtains or blinds for protection.

Avoid Sharp Objects: Keep sharp objects away from PU leather to prevent scratches or tears.

Caring for Your Modo Bag

Cleaning
  1. Regular Care – Wipe with a soft cloth to remove dust, or use a vacuum brush for deeper cleaning without scratching.
  2. Spot Treatment – For small stains, dab gently with a damp cloth and mild soap—never rub harshly.
  3. Deep Cleaning – For stubborn marks, use a leather cleaner after testing on a hidden spot to ensure no discoloration.
Conditioning
  1. Moisturize the Leather – Leather can dry and crack over time. Apply a quality conditioner every 3–6 months to keep it supple.
  2. How to Apply – Rub in evenly with a clean cloth and wipe away any extra product.
  3. Extra Protection – A hydrophobic spray before first use adds a layer of moisture and stain resistance.

What to Avoid
  1. Harsh Products – Avoid bleach, polish, saddle soap, or household cleaners—they can strip oils and ruin the finish.
  2. Moisture & Heat – Don’t soak leather or dry it with heaters. If wet, blot gently and let it air dry naturally.
  3. Rough Handling – Scrubbing or using abrasive tools (steel wool, sandpaper, rough fabrics) can scratch or wear down the surface.
METAL TRIMS

Metal trims

Contact with moist air can lead to tarnishing/oxidising of metal trims.
1. Take soft cotton or microfiber cloth.
2. Wipe against the tarnished area to clean the same.
3. Do not remove any covering from metal trim in order to avoid tarnishing.

  2. Use Dust Bags – Store in a breathable dust bag to protect from scratches and dirt while allowing airflow.
  3. Maintain Shape – Stuff with acid-free tissue paper to prevent sagging or creases.
