Empowering Craft and Community

Proudly rooted in India, Modo combines traditional craftsmanship with a modern global aesthetic. By producing locally, we support skilled artisans, promote fair employment practices, and preserve traditional heritage techniques. We also partner with vendors who follow SA8000 social accountability standards, ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions, and dignity across our supply chain. Through these partnerships, we aim to empower the communities, especially the women, who bring every Modo bag to life.

Responsible Materials & Practices

At Modo, we are committed to thoughtful materials and conscious production. Our leather is sourced from Leather Working Group (LWG) certified tanneries, recognised globally for responsible environmental practices. The leather we use is also a by-product of the food industry, giving existing materials a second life rather than letting them go to waste. From carefully selected fabrics to mindful packaging, we work to reduce waste and minimize our environmental footprint.

PACKAGING PROGRESS

In 2025, we introduced new packaging globally, a harmonious blend of our heritage and sustainability. The Crimson Rouge is deeply personal to Modo and has been a brand colour since we founded the company. Our packaging is crafted from responsibly-sourced materials that meet rigorous environmental certification standards.
We have catalogued every piece of protective and brand packaging, reduced unnecessary packaging and set concrete sustainability goals. Most components are either reusable or recyclable
